Am about to use one of my friend computer last night, but unfortunately when I ON it, it was very slow to boot, because of some kind of application that have to run in the background of the system  for example yahoo messenger, because of the barrier am facing concerning the slow booting of the system, I have to wait up to/almost 25minute before making use of the computer, and I guess some scovic’s blog fans may also be facing such a difficulty, that is why am trying to give you the method on how stop unwanted program from running on the start up

Click the start button and then type MISCONFIG in “RUN DALOG”  a small box that is prompted for you  to provide information, after that dialog box like that that of below will appear, click the startup tab, you will be provided with some programs that has been ticked, just disable/untick all those program, try to locate some necessary application you need and tick them, after that you can now click apply button and ok.
